This button measures about 2 1/8 in diameter. This rare button was made by the CRYSTOGLAS technique, utilized briefly c. 1915 by W&H – Whitehead & Hoag – Co. The image is of orange poppies, red poinsettia, green leaves and orange fruit on very deep green background. The lettering is in reflective gold. LOS ANGELES – County Of Fruit And Flowers. The process adds depth and extra dimension. It uses colored foil papers beneath the celluloid covering and over the design embossed into the backing metal.
