Don Munz American, b. 1931 “Palette Du Soir” serigraph with embossing, 1983. Signed in pencil at lower right. Titled in pencil at lower left. A beautiful, large-scale serigraph with areas of embossing titled “Palette Du Soir” which translates to “Evening Palette” – the perfect title for this mesmerizing, softly glowing landscape at twilight rendered in graduated shades of azure blue, peach, rose, orange, and plum. This tranquil landscape demonstrates Munz’s fascination with less populated, undisturbed, remote areas that possess undeniable natural beauty and engender peace of mind. Size (serigraph): 26″ L x 39″ W (66 cm x 99.1 cm) Size (acrylic frame): 27.375″ L x 40.375″ W (69.5 cm x 102.6 cm) About the artist: Don Munz was born in San Francisco, lived in southern California for many years, and moved to Kemptville, Ontario. Munz earned his Bachelor of Arts at Art Centre College of Design and his Master’s degree from California Statue University of Los Angeles. In addition to creating art, he taught at Pasadena College. Munz was a printmaker for fifteen years and created 140 serigraph editions. He also painted in oils. Munz’s works have been selected regularly for the California Art Club Gold Medal Exhibition, the Oil Painters of America show, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History Art Show. Artwork is mounted under acrylic in excellent condition. There are a few scuffs to the acrylic encasement as shown. Suspension hooks on verso.
