Two Crown Brand VINTAGE East Whittier California Orange Crate Label 1935 Genuine
Two Crown Brand Red Ball grade oranges. This rare vintage 1935 Valencia orange crate label features two elaborate jewel-encrusted gold crowns, one with red and the other with green velvet. The words “Two Crown” are displayed with large custom lettering across the top. The Red Ball logo is prominently displayed. Murphy Ranch, located on the south slope of the Whittier Hills in Los Angeles County, CA, was acquired in 1890 by Simon J. 1890 was also the year he brought water to East Whittier from the San Gabriel River. Citrus was first planted at Murphy Ranch in 1910. It had its own labs for soil analysis, pest control, and research. A Murphy citrus packing house once sat at Whittier Boulevard just west of Penn Street, where a storage facility currently operates. This label is vintage – not a copy and is in very good condition with edge repairs.
