The letters and flowers and fruit on the pin have a 3D effect from the Crystoglas with gorgeous gold, yellow, orange, red and green flashing colors. Quite unique and a great vintage collectible pin. Scarce early original vintage edition titled LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA CITY & COUNTY published in 1909. This 78 page booklet gives an in-depth view of the city of Los Angeles including the county. A booster publication issued by the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce as an enticement and guide for Easterners looking to immigrate to Southern California, with information on the various communities, educational institutions, the price of land, and the types of trades in demand. Nice art deco cover of Pomona, Goddess of Plenty, facts and figures about the Los Angeles area, including “cost of living” prices, “wages in Southern California” and House rents. ” The cover illustration by Langdon Smith has the aphorism “Put as much business in your art as you do art in your business. There is a black and white two panel map folding into the back cover, black and white photo illustrations throughout. Booklet measures 5 3/4 x 8 3/4 inches and is in very good condition with light wear along the spine and covers. There are no missing or damaged pages and all the inside pages are clean and bright.
