This is a vintage 10 kt balfour Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Academy class ring. It is hallmarked and monogrammed on the inside. There is wear on the sides of the ring and top of the faux sapphire stone. It is still mostly readable around the stone. The stone can be polished back to a shine with a stone polish yourself. Or by a jeweler. I did not polish it because then it doesn’t have the vintage look or feel. But the new owner can do whatever they wanted. This ring should date back to somewhere in the 1960’s to 1970’s. The person who had this graduated from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Academy in 1962 he worked for several years then retired. He then when on to work with NASA in the early 1980’s on the Columbia and Challenger space shuttles. I will be trying to list some of he NASA items when I can. See the pictures for the description.
