An Authentic Antique Map: Not a Modern Reproduction! Description: It is an original antique map approximately 148 years old with original hand coloring and a centerfold as issued. It is from an 1874 editon of Colton’s General atlas, a copy of the title page is included. Colton in the Office of the Librarian of Congress at Washington. Colton’s name and publication information is in the title area. A copy of the title page is also included for authenticity. Size: The map image measures approximately 17 by 24 1/2 inches (40x66cm) on a 17 1/2 by 28 1/4 (43x63cm) page with a margin all around for framing as seen in the pic. Condition: The map is in Fair condition with a centerfold as issued. The centerfold was separating and has been reinforced with acid free materals, so the map is no longer foldable but very flat for framing, see the pics for more on condition. For sale, A BEAUTIFUL SPECIMEN…. WITH HIGH HISTORIC COMP PRICES TO 110-125 RANGE old “good for” style trade token which actually says ” GOOD FOR 5C IN MERCHANDISE ” at a business which was called O. SCHWARTZ (Otto Schwartz General Store and Confectionery) located in the historic mining camp unincorporated community / living ghost town of. I call Goodsprings a “living ghost town” today, because it has a small remnant population compared to mining days….. Amazingly the “Pioneer Saloon” is still open today! You may have seen this town and its Pioneer Saloon (still open) featured on television shows… Like Pawn Stars and Expedition Unknown… Because it is still a gathering place for tourists to this historic town!!! And use historic data on these and the original catalog on these old tokens…… Who needs that grief. The historic mining camp town of GOODSPRINGS is today considered an un-incorporated community or “living ghost town” today with remnant population of 200.. Located in western part of Clark County… Located southwest of Las Vegas, not far from California line and towns of Shoshone and Tecopa Cal. Trade token is brass metal, round, about 21mm in size, and it has strong details. (likely a miner bar or store run by Johnnie Mining & Milling Company) located in the historic mining camp / living ghost town of JOHNNIE, NEVADA. THIS IS A TOUGHER TO FIND ANTIQUE TOKEN USED IN THE LIVING GHOST TOWN OF JOHNNIE…. A HISTORIC GHOST TOWN WHICH GOES BACK TO 1890 WHEN PEOPLE WERE SEARCHING FOR THE “LOST BREYFOGLE MINE”.. I HAVE ALWAYS HEARD THAT THIS WAS USED AT AN EMPLOYEE BAR OR STORE RUN BY THE “JOHNNIE MINING & MILLING COMPANY”… POPULATION GOT TO AROUND 300…. BUT WITH BIG CAMPS NEARBY BOOMING IN THAT ERA (RHYOLITE, BULLFROG DISTRICT, GOLDFIELD, ETC)… THIS MINING CAMP NEVER WAS HUGE.
