Custom Metropolis II Car, 2012. Plywood, aluminum, and Plexiglas stand. 6 Long × 4 1/4 High × 2 1/4 in Depth. Number 140 of 1,250 made. Comes with Original Box and Certificate of Authenticity issued form the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Only 1,250 were ever made and this is hand signed, certified and brand new in original box. This is so hard to find!! HAND SIGNED IN SILVER SHARPIE AND NUMBERED BY CHRIS BURDEN ON THE BOTTOM OF THE PIECE. Chris Burden was born in 1946 in Boston, Massachusetts, and died in 2015 in Topanga, California. He received his B. In 1969 from Pomona College, California, and his M. In 1971 from the University of California, Irvine. His work is featured in major museum collections worldwide including LACMA, Los Angeles; Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; Tate Gallery, London; Middelheim Museum, Antwerp; Inhotim-Centro de Arte Contemporanea, Brazil; and 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Japan. 1904 JEROME ARIZONA (YAVAPAI books $500) XRARE R9 PARIS SALOON F DEZOLT TOKEN
For sale, A VERY EARLY (CIRCA 1904)… A RARE TOKEN, LISTED UNDER “JEROME” IN SPOONER ARIZONA CATALOG AT JER-660 “good for” trade token once used as “GOOD FOR 12 1/2 CENT DRINK ” used at a business called PARIS SALOON, F. DEZOLT once located in historic old mining camp downtown of JEROME, A. THIS IS A VERY VERY RARE TOKEN FROM JEROME… Yes, the obverse has pitting, and seems like a bit of a “weak strike”… Which is in the past, but is at least an indication of how rare this token is…. Someone paid a ton just to get a less than perfect specimen….. I have never seen this token before, and been collecting 38 years. The tiny old town of Jerome has a population of 444, and is located in beautiful Yavapai County… Town got a post office in 1883, and had a peak population of 2500 around 1900….. Still a great place to visit 120 years later. AS A CATEGORY, OLD WESTERN “SALOON TOKENS” ARE AMONG THE MOST COLECTIBLE…. ESPECIALLY THE ONES THAT SAY “SALOON” ON THEM. This is a rare old token, and is as found, but at least it is all there…. Token is listed in the Arizona token book (Spooner) as catalog under town of Jerome as J er-660…. Trade token is brass, scalloped, about 29mm in diameter, and the reverse is very decent, the obverse is weak but discernible.
