This RARE 1990 Los Angeles County Fair DISCOVER AMERICAS COUNTY FAIR framed cardboard poster is in amazing condition. There is no fading or staining on the front… The paper on the back side is torn in places. Rear side of poster has a stain which did not go through to front side. The poster itself measures 30″ x 18″ and total measurements with frame is 35 1/2″ x 23″. I would have this rare poster mounted in a new frame. This is NOT a copy, NOT a modern day replica. 1915 LOS ANGELES COUNTY FRUIT & FLOWERS “Crystoglas” pinback button. Unfortunately the photos do not come close to doing justice to the beauty of this pin. 2 1/8 diameter celluloid. Uncommon button made with the “Crystoglas” process. Used and I believe developed by Whitehead and Hoag. Orange poppies; red poinsettia, green leaves and an orange are all on dark green background. The lettering and vegetation are are reflective and in the “background” giving the pin a feeling of depth. Done with colored foils below the celluloid. Absolutely beautiful – sorry but it is hard to explain and hopefully you will be able to view enough in the photos. Has the original item specific Whitehead and Hoag back paper. Colors are strong and vivid. No flaws except old price tag surface tear on back paper. Near mint or nicer. All the photos to make an intelligent decision on condition. Large-scale organic shapes in saturated colors fill the paper, along with the simple wording advertising the museum and its opening date, April 1, 1965. It is signed “AC”. An original from 1965, printed by Paris’ Atelier Mourlot. At 50 years old, still fresh and vibrant, with a hand-made presence and physicality to the ink and paper. A fun and historic piece to add to any collection. Hole in paper, bottom margin. Some small spots and minor foxing. Wrinkles and ripples in paper. Slight ghost image in some areas.
