THIS IS A GREAT TOKEN FROM JEROME… The tiny old town of Jerome has a population of 444, and is located in beautiful Yavapai County… Town got a post office in 1883, and had a peak population of 2500 around 1900….. Still a great place to visit 120 years later. AS A CATEGORY, OLD WESTERN “SALOON TOKENS” ARE AMONG THE MOST COLECTIBLE…. ESPECIALLY THE ONES THAT SAY “SALOON” ON THEM. This is a great old token, and a nice uncleaned specimen Token is listed in the Arizona token book (Spooner) as catalog under town of Jerome as J er-040…. Books VERY HIGH if you can find one. Trade token is brass, octagonal, about 31mm in diameter, and it has some light porosity, but overall it displays well.
