Important Catalogue of the 1st MUSEUM EXHIBITION ofWALT DISNEY Animation Art Held in Los Angeles, 1940. LOS ANGELES COUNTY MUSEUM Retrospective Exhibition of the Walt Disney Medium (1940). 22 pages + covers, appx 11.75″ x 9″. This would make a very rare addition to your Disney collection. This landmark publication is the illustrated catalogue of the first exhibition of Walt Disney Studio art held at a major museum. Its theme was to demonstrate the incredible evolution of Disney’s art of animated filmmaking over the 12 year period from Steamboat Willie (1928) to Fantasia (1940) through a series of displays incorporating original art. Illustrations of art and scenes from the films are in color and black-and-white. Animation cels, background paintings, animation drawings, continuity and atmosphere story sketches, model sheets, layout drawings, and character model statues were included in the show. A descriptive list of the forty-five (45) displays appears over 3 pages and a 1-page glossary defines the various art forms. There is an introductory essay, coverage of the development of Disney filmmaking, and sections devoted to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), Pinocchio (1940) and Fantasia (1940). Faded purple cover is brittle and discolored. There is a number written in pencil in upper right corner. The rest of the pages are on higher quality paper in great shape. LA Fire Department Hi Vis Flame-Resistant Parka Made in the USA in 2000 Size Large. The LA County Fire Department approved this parka for its personnel. It’s designed to be flame resistant, making it a sought-after item for firefighters and collectors. Made in the USA by Transcon Manufacturing. Since the early 1960s, Transcon Manufacturing has been a trusted supplier. Transcon introduced a breakthrough: an FR uniform made from denim Nomex fabric. This advanced fabric was adopted by the Los Angeles City Fire and Los Angeles County Fire Departments, becoming a staple uniform for fire safety personnel. Authentic LA Fire Department gear dated 11/03/2000 and style #FJA829 on the tag. This was worn by a LA firefighter and proudly represents fire departments around the world. This will make an excellent addition to your collection. In very good condition. This was used by a real-life LAFD hero and has some minor wear. Minor scuffs in a few areas. Flat measurements are approximately 25 inch sleeve length from the shoulder to bottom cuff x 29.5 inches from the shoulder to bottom hem x 25.5 inches across the chest. This is a lovely and Fine Antique California Impressionist Nautical Boats Oil Painting on canvas, by the talented early 20th century California Impressionist painter, Josephine E. Herron Hyde 1885 – 1965. This artwork depicts a vibrant and jewel-toned harbor scene on Terminal Island, in Long Beach, California. Small white boats are shown idling in the calm turquoise hued waters, while the scaffolding of a wooden dock can be seen in the background. This piece likely dates to the 1930’s – 1940’s. HYDE” in small print in the lower left corner and also signed: “Josephine Hyde in the lower right corner. Additionally, an old, yellowed exhibition label on the verso reads: Mrs. Fishing Boats (Terminal Island)… This small gem is approximately 10 5/8 x 12 3/4 inches including frame. Actual artwork is approximately 15 x 18 inches. Very good condition for age, with some light chipping, wood splitting, and scuffing to the vintage frame please see photos.
